Three Houses

Three Houses explores how a contemporary townhouse development can build upon the character of an existing residential street. Three stepping volumes respond to the site's topography while continuing the rhythm of neighbouring gabled houses, reinforcing the scale and grain of the neighbourhood in a composition that feels both familiar and distinctly contemporary.

Each house is defined by its own timber façade in natural grey, matte black or walnut brown, giving each volume a distinct identity within a cohesive architectural language. Vertical timber slats of varying lengths lend depth and rhythm to the façades, revealing a finely crafted level of detail at close range. Floor-to-ceiling windows with French balconies maximise daylight and strengthen the connection between the homes and their surroundings.
